The initial idea of a Brilliant Fool came from the concept of gathering a lot of knowledge but not actually using it.

Does that sound at all familiar?

Acts 17:21 says, “For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.”

After spending over two decades in the closely-held business world, I realized just how easy it is to create my own “New Athens” with the books I read, the podcasts I listen to, and everything I surround myself with…and just how easy it is to do nothing with it!

So, I set out to make use of this knowledge and help others make use of it, too. Because wisdom isn’t just sage advice, it’s the skillful use of knowledge. And if I don’t use the knowledge I have, then that knowledge just becomes foolishness. I have become a Brilliant Fool.

That’s when God reminded me of something else in His Word:

1 Corinthians 1:17 - “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise”

If I use my knowledge skillfully for Christ, then I am a Brilliant Fool for God’s glory!

I truly believe that God wants to use our businesses to impact others for the good news of Jesus Christ, Him crucified for us, and the power of His resurrection.
